In 2024, Jetstar confirmed that they were launching three new trans-Tasman Routes from Dunedin and Hamilton. The new routes take off from Hamilton to the Gold Coast and Sydney, and from Dunedin to the Gold Coast from June 2025.

It will be the first international flights from Hamilton in 13 years, when Virgin Australia stopped flying.

From 16 June 2025, Jetstar will offer direct flights between Hamilton,  the Gold Coast and Sydney!

From June 16, the world is your oyster with onward travel from Sydney and the Gold Coast!

From 16th June 2025, there will be four direct flights per week from Hamilton to Sydney, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. To travel on other days, passengers will have to transit somewhere.

From 19th June 2025, there will be four direct flights per week from Sydney to Hamilton, on Thursdays, Saturdays, Mondays and Tuesdays. We are looking forward to welcoming more Aussie Travellers to visit our amazing region of the Mighty Waikato.

From 18th June 2025, passengers will be able to fly from Hamilton to the Gold Coast directly on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Similarly, people from the Gold Coast can also travel directly to Hamilton on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
