Guests can enjoy freshly prepared meals featuring local produce and premium cuts. We offer a gourmet breakfast as part of your accommodation package and a tasting menu that changes each evening. During the day we have an a-la-carte lunch menu as well as other options such as a gourmet picnic lunch or hiker’s packed lunch to go.

Our farm tours and massage treatments are open to outside visitors, however bookings are essential and dependent on availability.

Our guided ATV Farm Tour offers an authentic, up-close look at life on a working New Zealand beef and lamb station. You will explore our beautiful landscapes, meet the animals, learn about our farming practices and see the working dogs in action. It’s a favourite activity for couples, families and photography enthusiasts!
If you are interested in seeing a sheering demonstration, please don’t hesitate to let us know in advance.

We would be happy to arrange an airport pick up or drop off or day transportation to those that would prefer not to drive to the Lodge. We can also provide van transportation for groups or guests that wish to enjoy a few drinks at the Lodge.

While one-night stays are available, more guests find that a single night passes too quickly to full unwind. A two-night stay gives you a full day to enjoy one of our many experiences on the farm or around our area.

Absolutely! With our tranquil setting, delicious meals and relaxing spa treatments - just to name a few - the Lodge is ideal for anniversaries, birthdays or a quiet couple’s escape.

Our standard check in times are from 2:00pm until 6:00pm. Early arrivals are welcome to store luggage at the Lodge and explore the area, prior to check-in.
Early check in to the rooms are subject to availability and may incur a fee. Check out is by 10:00am. Late check out may be available upon request and by prior arrangements, though extra fees may apply.

Te Karaka Lodge is wheelchair accessible and designed to accommodate guests with mobility concerns. The Lodge is built on a single level with no steps, featuring spacious indoor common area.
A ramp is available to move from the main deck down to the lawn. We offer a designated accessible Deluxe Suite with a step-free access and a bathroom featuring a walk-in shower with seat and toilet grab rails.

You can book directly through our online booking engine. When we reach out to you after your booking, just let us know that you would like a customised itinerary – such as adding a special welcome basket or pre-ordering a bottle of wine or a special surprise for a loved one.

We are happy to accommodate food allergies. Our remote location requires advance planning and sourcing of fresh ingredients for our Chef.
To help avoid any disappointment and ensure a seamless culinary experience, please inform us of any allergies at the time of booking, ideally giving our Chef a least 7 days notice.

Yes, we offer on-site EV charging for our guests. We recommend letting us know in advance if you plan on driving an EV so we can ensure the charging access is ready for your arrival, letting you recharge your car while you recharge yourself!

There are a few routes to reach the Lodge. If this is the first time driving to the Lodge, we always recommend that you follow our provided directions in your booking confirmation email.
These directions take you via Glen Murray where only the final 2km is unsealed after passing Nikau Caves. Please note that the other popular Port Waikato route has a longer 12km gravel section, so we advise low-clearance vehicle drivers not to take this route).

Yes ! Exclusive Lodge buyouts are available all year round for intimate weddings/elopements, corporate retreats, milestone birthdays, friend getaways or family celebrations.
When you book out Te Karaka Lodge, our entire team are dedicated solely to your group. We work closely with you to curate a completely bespoke experience – from customised menus and group activities.

We have a co-sleeper (NZ$25) and wooden baby cot (NZ$50) available. For children (8 years and under), you can also request a rollaway bed (NZ$100 per night) that can be set up in the Master Suite.

Yes, the swimming spa is heated to 38 degrees Celcius in the winter, equipped with hydrotherapy jets, allowing guests to use it all year around.

We accept Visa, Mastercard. However, credit cards carry a surcharge of 2.5%.
Eftpos cards are accepted with no surcharge. We do not accept American Express or Cash payments. Direct bank transfers are accepted (booking reference number must be included in the transfer).
