Behind-the-scenes look at the Station!
Many of the guests of Te Karaka Station & Lodge loved the opportunity to go on a farm tour with our Farm Manager, James, to get a sneak peek at his knowledge and experience, and his very down-to-earth approach to explain a Farmer’s life.
Today we want to explain one frequently asked question:
Why are our sheep marked in different colours?
June marks “scan-and-spray time” at Te Karaka Station! If you’ve recently spotted sheep with distinct, colourful markings, here’s what they mean:
💙 Blue = single lamb
🧡 Orange = late lambers
🤍 White = twins/triplets (yes, triplets!)
Each colour helps our station manager, James, and his team care more closely for the sheep as lambing season quickly approaches.
Just another behind-the-scenes look at life at the Station!
When you book a stay at Te Karaka Station & Lodge, don’t forget to check if James is avaialble for a private ATV tour!
